Arambol

Stella Maris Canossian Sisters reside in Madhalo Vaddo Arambol, Goa. Arambol is a picturesque fishing village. The scenic beauty of the beach and the calm atmosphere make it a lovely place. The people are simple, God-fearing, eager to improve their lot, affectionate and generous in sharing whatever they have. Sisters from Arpora community were on a weekend visiting Arambol parish and were carrying out pastoral activities. The Parish Priest agreed to have a community of Sisters in Arambol and accordingly in May 1980, three sisters began to reside there. It was only on 21st May 1981 that a community of four sisters were established there. The Sisters built a new house and shifted to the new premises on 12th November 1987. The present apostolate of the sisters are teaching in the Parish School, doing Pastoral work, Empowerment of women, and helping them to tap government resources and schemes, Visiting Families, Visit to the hospital, Formation of lay Canossian, Youth-ministry, and Care of the sick.
